2020 Committee

The club committee meets monthly to discuss the club’s progress, monitor events and plan future happenings. Meetings are held where possible in members’ homes to reduce costs of room hire.

Ray Buckland

Ray is a retired IT consultant who volunteers at local schools as a STEM Ambassador, helping students learn about computing, robotics and science. Ray has been a member of Thatcham Photographic Club for many years. He manages the website and helps out with various technical requirements. This year he has stepped into the role of Chairman. He enjoys all forms of photography and is happy to pass on his enthusiasm and knowledge by teaching photography and photo editing courses at the Club.

Stuart Bain

Stuart is a retired engineer whose hands on skills continue to prove invaluable. He is the club treasurer who maintains a thorough control over all matters financial. Stuart also helps with tuition at Photoshop and Basic Photography courses run by the Club and also helps to maintain maintain our displays of photographs at West Berks Hospital and Thatcham Town FC.

Sue Lloyd

Sue, a retired teacher, is the club secretary and programme secretary and is tasked in researching and booking guest speakers. We plan for 12 months ahead with our programme but do not fill every slot to offer us the ability to flex the programme to suit changing needs.

Chris Bates

Chris is a retired construction industry executive who assists the club on every front – setting up for meetings and providing transport for our public events such as the Thatcham Family Fun Day.

Ray Clark

Ray is a relatively new member of the club and lives in Tilehurst. He is also President of the Royal County of Berkshire Bowling Association which will mean he has to balance his commitments, helping out at Club activities when and where he can. Being new to photography Ray would like to make sure the Club activities are relevant for members that are also new to this wonderful hobby.

Bob Ferryman

Bob is a retired electronics design engineer and now involved in volunteering. He has been a member for several years, with a short gap. With a background in computing and optics, including astronomy as well as photography, he brings technical skills to the club but is lacking in artistic inspiration - help appreciated!

Malcolm McGregor

Malcolm is retired broadcast engineer who was involved with Live Aid in 1985 and has the shirt to prove it! (Signed by some of the big name artists who appeared). He provides the club with great technical hints and support, having been a professional event photographer prior to retirement.

Alan Woolfenden

Alan, a retired “postie” who delivered in and around Thatcham for many years, is a totally committed member of the committee who can often be seen out and about taking photos at Thatcham Town Council events. He helps maintain our displays of photographs at West Berks Hospital and Thatcham Town FC as well as helping prior to every club meeting with set up and also selling of raffle tickets.
