September: Black and White

In the photographic world, black and white is an art form of its own. Arguably, working in black and white can help the photographer to improve their skills.

How?
It’s all about seeing. Colour is very powerful but it tends to dominate photos. It can be difficult to see other key elements like contrast, texture, shape, form, and quality of light. Black and white strips away colour, allowing the viewer to focus on the other elements that may matter more.
