Light Painting - 14 October 2020
Instead of a Zoom meeting this month, we were all desperate to get out and about. So we organised an outdoor practical photography session of Light Painting at Thatcham Football Club. We observed the current social distancing rules, wearing face masks, keeping two metres apart and groups of no more that six people. We also provided hand sanitiser for members to use.
A variety of coloured LED light strings and wands were waved around in the dark for members to capture some long shutter speed images. Sparklers were spinning on the end of a bit of string and one member kindly parked his car in a dark corner so we could light it with some hand-held torches.
Everyone had a great time, some with better results that others, but that was the point... to learn how to go about handling low light photography. Some of the results are shown below.
