Please follow these guidelines when submitting photos:
- Process your photos first. Please take the time to make the adjustments necessary for lighting, exposure, white balance, straightening, cropping etc, to show your images in the best possible way.
- Keep the resolution high. Avoid downsizing your photos and make sure your email client does not downsize the photos when you send them. Please submit at the highest resolution possible.... a minimum of 2000px on the shortest side.
- JPGs only. Please send images in JPG format only.
- No watermarks. Please do not put any logos or watermarks on your photos. Your copyrights are reserved and made clear on the website.
- Try to keep them recent. If possible please submit photos taken in the past 12 months. However, if that's not possible it's better to submit an old photo rather than no submission at all.
- One image, one project. Once you have submitted an image for a project, please do not submit it again for another project. This will keep all the project images fresh and encourage members to take new photos.
- Be self critical. Pick your best images and reject images that have technical problems.... eg: poor composition, out of focus, blurred, low resolution, very noisy. Of course sometimes these things contribute to the image and add artistic value... however be honest with yourself... does it enhance the image or does it look like a mistake. If you are struggling to get images that you are happy with, ask someone at the Club. Our members are very willing to share their experience and techniques to help you improve your photography and overcome any difficulties you may be having.
