Fine Art and Workflow
Presented by: David Garthwaite
dgshot.uk I’m a fine art photographer from Leeds in the UK specialising in B&W landscape architecture, portrait and product photography. Growing up in the North of England has shaped my artistic style, drawing me towards a bleaker and darker outlook of everyday locations. I started photography in 2017 and was drawn to a minimalist high contrast B&W style. I enjoy crafting scenes with luminosity in a very smooth and realistic way. Including my more recent venture into portrait photography. |

Presented by: The Committee
A casual evening of food incinerated by the committee, and washed down with a glass or two of your favourite tipple.
A great way to relax and reflect on our year so far.... the latest in PPE fashion we'd like to wear, the swabs we've given and the needles we've had jabbed into our arms. A chance to compare AstraZeneca and Phizer side effects too. Oh... and we might also talk about the photos we've taken, the ones that got away, the projects that we'd like to do, and the kit we want to buy!
This event is for TPC members and their invited guests only.

Presented by: The Committee
A chance to practice creating abstract coloured patterns with moving LED lights, torches and sparklers. This is a great creative exercise as well as a good learning opportunity to shoot in very low light and to understand how changing the shutter speed and ISO settings can affect the image captured.
To give ourselves room to swing the lights about we'll aim to make this an outdoor activity so please remember to wrap up warm. However, if the weather is wet, we will move the activities indoors.

Newbury at Night
Newbury at Night
As voted for by our members, our meeting on this evening will be a field trip into Newbury town centre.
Following our light-painting session earlier this month, this session will build on the skills of manually controlling our cameras to get great long exposure images in low light conditions.
Walking around in small groups, we plan to photograph the Christmas decorations in the main high street as well as a variety of shop-fronts and street scenes. The canal area from West Mills to Victoria Park will be photographed for light reflections off the water and moored boats. We'll also visit the A339 bridge over the canal to get some light-trail images from the passing traffic.
Tripods will be required for most images and warm layered clothing is recommended. Reflective clothing should be worn for safety reasons particularly around the canal area and when photographing near the traffic.
