TPC was invited by Beenham Wind Orchestra to photograph the rehearsals for and the performance of a concert at St Mary's Church, Thatcham on 27 April 2024.
The rehearsals were held at Beenham Primary School and St Mary's Church in the weeks leading up to the concert. During rehearsals we set up studio lighting and backdrops to take portrait photos of members of the orchestra with their instruments.
The concert was amazing with the orchestra performing a number of pieces to a very appreciative audience.
Event photography of this type has specific challenges of low light, long distances and staying as unobtrusive as possible for the musicians and audience. This event was a great opportunity for our members to practice those skills.
